Alex Kunkel said there was a swinging walkway over the canal by the spillway. I think I'll pass on crossing there.
Sign up for the bus tour by calling 736-4675. If you want to follow the tour in your own vehicle we will have schedules at the museum and times will be posted here as well. We are going to tour the Salmon Dam with information about construction and the turkish ovens. Next we will head west to take in the Toana Road and on to Roseworth, (time permitting). Jim Gentry will speak on the bus tour about general area information. Should be a fun day, but remember to bring your own lunch.
Warm weather and sunny skies for the Arbor Day celebration today. Four new trees were planted and information on the planting, care and maintenance of trees was readily available. Commissioners Jack Johnson and Terry Kramer attended and Jack Johnson read the Arbor Day proclamation. Employees of Twin Falls County Parks and Recreation dug holes and made the basins for the trees while some visitors from the home schools and master gardeners filled them in. Tony McCammon from the extension agency helped choose appropriate species of trees and was on hand to answer questions and plant the gingko tree. Many thanks to all that attended and we look forward to watching these trees grow on the museum grounds.
